Sculpture Installations

A large bold sculpture consisting of three carved monoliths topped with large rough unworked capping stones. Fourth standalone stone representing magnetic north, other three representing magnetic east, south west. Lanscaped and again lit at night.

A reflective piece set in a landscape courtyard. Accessible to all visitors and staff.

I knew that this was to be a calm space so wanted to design a sculpture that would be open to interpretation by the onlooker.

The main driving theme for this sculpture was the significance of water throughout Buxton's history. Because of the minimum maintenance needed I decided to suggest the movement of water through carved shapes and forms. Contrasting worked and unworked surfaces capturing erosion through the passage of time.
